Sometimes moving on is the best option in life

Last Updated on October 26, 2023

I spent a lot of time dwelling on the past and imagining what could have been. I was replaying memories from my life and being upset about the outcomes. Usually, it was because someone held me back, misguided, or outright screwed me over.

I realized I was to blame because I let it happen. It was me who chose the company and friends I kept around me. Even though I knew they weren’t good for me. It was me that let them screw me over. It is tough to admit to myself. But I let it happen.

The problem with regrets is you can’t change them, and they happened in the past. The opportunities are gone, so the only option is to move on.

Sure, I will never have the same million-dollar company back. But most importantly, I learned from the experience the best option is to move on. If you constantly think about the past, you will miss the opportunities right before you.

You will be happier and more optimistic if you look at every event in your life like a building block. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

So the next time you have a great idea, you won’t let others discourage or sabotage you. Because you have had a similar situation in your life that you learned from.

An opportunity missed is a lesson learned.
