When I was about 19, I remember standing outside my technical school and talking to a classmate. I remember asking him if starting a business and making a lot of money is so easy, why doesn’t everybody do it? He didn’t have an answer for me.
I wish he did because that was a significant turn in my life. Instead of starting an online business, which was very easy to do back then, I embarked on a journey to figure out the answer to that question. It was not very wise, but unconsciously, that was my mission in the back of my head.
Maybe it was from my childhood when I saw people not making changes in their lives, just complaining about their circumstances. It may have had a deeper meaning, but I wanted the answer. If everyone, for the most part, wants lots of money. Why don’t they get it instead of working jobs they hate?
Someone once said to be careful about what you ask the universe because it always gives you the answer. I continued living my life until I got stuck in a job I hated and became miserable. It must have been part of some Divine plan because I couldn’t answer my question even then. Or figure out why that was happening to me. I used to laugh at people like that, and now it happened to me.
I finally got my answer a few days ago and 17 years later. It gave meaning to my suffering. Because people make excuses and their reality gets distorted, we are not as objective as we would like to think.
People get stuck in life and don’t see a way out. When I was 19 years old, I always thought there was a way out no matter what. But now I see to some people there is no way out. In their reality, they are stuck in life because of one thing or another.
It made me realize I needed to be more understanding and compassionate. People were not blessed with intelligence, insight, skills, or the ability to change their lives.
Once I realized this insight, all the suffering and misfortunes that happened to me made sense. The universe was trying to teach me something. Also, when I realized this, I started seeing all the possibilities and endeavors I could take to improve my life.
So the next time you want to laugh at someone’s life. Try understanding them first because they could be in much pain and misfortune. Also, try to help them. As for me, I am planning small steps to make my life better and easier.
